Avorn Brown is held in the Monmouth County Jail on $50,000 bail, charged with assault with a deadly weapon.
Police told the Asbury Park Press Brown pulled out the gun at Tropical Liquors in Asbury when a female customer refused to let the 50-year-old go ahead of her on Thursday.
It's not clear whether Brown has hired a lawyer.
