Parenting: Parenting is like a taxi driver

March 29, 2011

My children have reached the age where their afterschool activities list looks almost as long and detailed as that of a CEO at a Fortune 500 company.

Baseball, basketball, piano, religious classes, cheerleading ... and the list goes on. The daily afternoon happenings of school-aged children puts a lot of tread on your car's tires.

Since teleportation still seems a ways off, we decided to do the next best thing to minimize our frustrations at home. It is as obvious as it is easiest.

We share the workload. As much as my schedule permits (remember, I'm in bed by 6:30pm, so there is only so much I can do in the evening child-ferrying department).

Obviously, the Captain Kirk route would be a lot faster, and less fuel consuming.
