Officials say the 26-year-old royal will be on the first available flight back to Britain because he has to resume his military service.
The palace said Thursday that /*Prince Harry*/ would spend the unexpected extra day continuing his trek with wounded servicemen who are heading toward the North Pole. The group seeks to raise 2 million pounds ($3.2 million) for the Walking With the Wounded charity.
The temporary airport is built on an ice floe in the Arctic and is subject to many weather-related shutdowns. Officials say the runway should be repaired within 24 or 48 hours.
