20-year-old John Cooper of the 400 block of Whittington Place and 19-year-old Myron Minor of the 2600 block of Price Street were charged with first and third degree murder in the death of Jabree Hughes, 20.
Hughes died at the hospital after being shot multiple times on the evening of June 1, 2010 in the 200 block of Patterson Street.
A witness described to police seeing a man run from the scene with a gunshot wound to the leg. Then, a short time after the killing, investigators say Cooper arrived at Crozer-Chester Hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg.
Another witness, who was with Hughes the night of the killing, told police that Minor and Cooper approached Hughes, and one of them said "You know we told you we were going to get you."
The witness then told police Minor opened fire, with Cooper then shooting as well.
The killing was part of the wave of violence in Chester that led Mayor Wendell Butler to declare a state of emergency.
