Two masked men, armed with a hammer and a shotgun, entered a Zales in Waikele, Hawaii and tried removing jewelry from the glass case during the weekend.

The men tried repeatedly to bust the case open. But whacks with the hammer and blasts from the shotgun could not get the job done.

The males fled after failing to break the cases and officials are now asking the public's assistance to locate two men wanted for the attempted robbery.

Police say the robbers are in their 20s, both are smaller than 5'8 and weight less than 140 pounds.

Witnesses did spot their getaway car, but officers later found it torched in a nearby neighborhood.
