Twenty-six-year-old Jose Feliciano pleaded guilty in February to aggravated manslaughter. Under the sentence imposed Tuesday by Superior Court Judge Samuel Natal, he'll serve a seven-year concurrent term for aggravated assault.
Sixteen-year-old Ramon Roman was killed on Aug. 4, 2009, after he saw Feliciano firing a handgun into the air and went next door to see what was going on.
Feliciano shot Roman then fired at police as they arrived.
During the exchange of gunfire with police, a stray bullet struck 68-year-old Juan Lopez, who was inside a nearby home. He died a day later. It hasn't been determined who fired that shot.
