The shooting took place on Rorer Street near Tioga Street shortly before 9:00 p.m.
Police say someone opened fire on a 25-year-old man while he was inside a car, striking him at least twice in the chest.
The man was then dumped onto the street.
Medics responded and rushed the man to Temple University Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Police are looking into whether the shooter acted alone.
