That's the ruling from the Florida Supreme Court.
The justices say police must get a warrant before a K-9 cop can do a "sniff test" at the front door of a home.
The ruling comes in a Miami-Dade case from 2006.
Police went to a home with a drug-sniffing dog on a tip.
Officers later arrested the resident and seized pot.
