Man dead after basketball court shooting ID'd

WILMINGTON - April 19, 2011

At around 6:00 p.m. Monday, police were called out to the basketball courts under I-95 on the 200 block of North Jackson Street for the report of a shooting.

When they arrived, they found 23-year-old Jamar Brown of Wilmington suffering from two gunshot wounds to the abdomen and one to the arm.

Through the police investigation, they found that a man walked up to Brown on the crowded basketball court and fired his gun 6 times.

Brown was transported to Christiana Hospital, but later died from his injuries.

So far, no suspects have been identified.
