Police say the victim, Deziree Vivian, 27, of 17 South Pacific Avenue, was stabbed to death by her boyfriend, Freddy Solorzano, 50.
Solorzano was arrested around 12:40 a.m. Friday.
Solorzano's bail was set at $750,000 cash and he was transported to the Atlantic County Justice Facility, Prosecutor Ted Housel said.
Police on the scene Thursday night originally believed Vivian was killed during a robbery attempt.
