They gathered Saturday near where Ruffin was grabbed at gunpoint one month ago Saturday.
The body of Nadirah Ruffin was found in the Schuylkill River on Tuesday. So far no one's been charged in her murder.
"Being silent about what you know about this issue is worse than the act. And we just hope that everybody who has been involved, or know somebody who's been involved will come forward," said a local Pastor.
A reward is being offered in the case.
Residents also hope someone will help solve the 2002 disappearance of another 19-year old mother, Sierra Thomas, who vanished from the same block.
