The tornado missed the building she was in, but there is video of what it looked like when 165-mile an hour winds blasted through double-paned, shatter proof windows in the main terminal.
Some passengers were hit by flying glass, but amazingly there were no serious injuries.
The some areas of the St. Louis airport remain closed, but the airport is expected to reopen on Sunday.
The same twister unleashed its fury on a number of homes, reducing them to splintered wood and debris.
Temple University's softball team's bus is expected to arrive back on campus Sunday morning, after a 6:30pm start and a transfer in Ohio.
The team was getting ready to board their flight Friday night in Saint Louis when a tornado hit.
You can hear screams in cell phone video to get away from the windows as a tornado was heading straight to Lambert-St. Louis International Airport.
The softball team from Temple University was in Terminal 2 waiting to head home.
The video shows several teammates lined up in their red shirts to watching the wild weather outside the windows.
Sophomore Gina Sciarrone described what happened.
"The airplanes were rocking back and forth, and the security guard yelled, 'everybody get back!' Everybody went running," told Gina Sciarrone.
The video shows Security leading crowds passengers downstairs for cover in the baggage claim.
"I wasn't like that scared until, like, we got downstairs, because I didn't think it was a real tornado, and they were like yeah it's real," said Gina.
Back home in Northeast Philadelphia, Gina's family was panicking when they got the call from their daughter.
"Scared to death, scared to death. I'm telling him, I'm texting friends," said Gina's mother Kathy Sciarrone.
"I said, 'I'm concerned, I'm driving out there.' She said, "I don't think you can, because the storms are coming through," said Dan Sciarrone.
The team waited out the storm downstairs, explaining a gas leak made the wait for baggage even longer before heading to a hotel for the night.
The softball team from Saint Joseph's University was also in Saint Louis for the Saturday games which were cancelled. They are also heading back to their campus by bus, unable to get a flight out.
Gina's family will be there waiting when the bus arrives, and while Gina might be wiped out from the trip, her mother assures the Easter feast will be ready when she gets home.
