NJ state trooper, trucker rescue baby after crash

CARTERET, N.J. - April 25, 2011

Authorities say 29-year-old Denisse Delucca-Moncayo of Carteret lost control of her car Sunday morning and crashed into a concrete barrier, overturning the car.

When a trooper arrived, 3-month-old Denisse Cintron was turning blue.

Trooper Ryan Kauffmann tells The Star-Ledger that he and a truck driver cleared a blocked airway and used a defibrillator to perform CPR.

The trooper says he was on "cruise control" during the rescue.

The infant was in intensive care at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in new Brunswick.

Her mother and grandmother had non-life-threatening injuries.
