4 AC casinos could forfeit $12K in winnings

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. - April 27, 2011

The state Gaming Enforcement Division is expected to approve forfeiture orders soon against Caesars, the Borgata, the Taj Mahal and Resorts.

The money was won from people who were either under the legal minimum gambling age of 21, or people who had signed up for a self-exclusion list designed to keep them out of casinos, usually because of a compulsive gambling problem.

Half the money would go to the state Casino Revenue Fund, which helps pay for programs for senior citizens and the disabled. The other would help fund programs to prevent and treat compulsive gambling.
