Personal income taxes due in Delaware

DOVER, Del. - May 2, 2011

Monday is the deadline for filing personal income taxes in the state.

Officials are urging residents to file online. Taxpayers requesting refunds online usually get their money two weeks earlier than those who file paper returns.

Last year, nearly 75 percent of Delaware taxpayers filed returns on the Internet, and officials say the system has experienced a steady 5 percent growth each year.

Those who need more time to file returns can ask for an extension online. But even those who get extensions still must submit any payments due by Monday.
