Andrew Richard Meyers had pleaded guilty to homicide by vehicle in February in the death of Natan Luehrmann-Cowen. On Monday he was ordered to spend up to seven years behind bars.
Authorities say the 26-year-old Ambler man was going 63 miles per hour on a residential street in Lower Gwynedd Township when he struck Luehrmann-Cowen in March 2010. The boy was dragged about 140 feet and died at a hospital.
Tests showed Meyers had marijuana, cocaine and prescription drugs in his system at the time of the crash.
