Driver charged with DUI after baby stroller struck

PORT RICHMOND - May 5, 2011

34-year-old Robert Thomas of the 100 block of Carousel Circle in New Britain, Pa. was arrested shortly after the crash.

Police say Thomas was driving the blue Honda SUV southbound on Aramingo Avenue when he ran a red light and struck the stroller.

Inside the stroller was a 7-week-old girl, who was ejected.

The baby was rushed to Saint Christopher's Hospital for Children with head trauma. She was reported to be in stable condition on Thursday afternoon.

No one else was hurt.

Besides DUI, Thomas was also charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and other related offenses.
