Schmidt may have been exaggerating just a bit, but clearly, she wasn't the only shopper excited to be at today's Grand Opening of the Nordstrom Rack in Cherry Hill, New Jersey.
So many shoppers arrived to check out the off-price deals on designer clothes, an officer was directing parking lot traffic.
Some of the store aisles could've used a traffic cop as well, as shoppers scooped up clothes and accessories at 30% to 70% off retail.
We spotted $115 Nike Shox for $54.90 and a $178 Calvin Klein dress for $69.97. A girl's True Religion jean jacket, with a retail price of $136, was on sale for $60. And a DKNY girl's dress that retails for $46 was on sale for $27.
Kathy Gellar of Moorestown, New Jersey, took just a few minutes to fill up her cart. She showed us a strapless dress with a matching cardigan that she was planning to buy for her daughter for $17.
Janae Taylor of Overbrook was holding several bags full of designer shoes.
And Christina Payton of Pennsauken, New Jersey, was thrilled with a spring jacket priced at $24.97.
"I've been looking everywhere for something like this and for this price, it's a great deal," she said. And the shoppers aren't the only ones benefiting. The new store employs 70 people.
The new Nordstrom Rack store is located at Towne Place at Garden State Park, 951 Haddonfield Road in Cherry Hill.
