Police say Rep. Cherelle Parker of Philadelphia was pulled over early Sunday morning in the city's Germantown section.
Police say they had observed Parker driving the wrong way down a one-way street, Action News has learned.
Parker was released after a preliminary arraignment.
Parker's attorney, Joe Kelly, tells The Associated Press that the legislator "regrets putting herself in this position and will address these allegations at the appropriate time."
Parker is a 38-year-old Democrat who was first elected to the state House in 2005. She represents sections of northwest Philadelphia.
