Ospreys halt construction

Ospreys have some friends in the nation's capital.

Work on a bridge has been halted because ospreys have built a nest on a construction crane.

Officials say construction won't resume until the ospreys have left the nest.

It takes a little more than a month for the eggs to hatch.

After that, about 45 more days for the young birds to learn to fly.

The bridge is part of a $10 billion effort to revitalize a riverfront area.
