"Peter's participation in this prestigious charity match is not only important to him but for our club," said CEO & Operating Partner Nick Sakiewicz. "It's a tremendous honor for him to be invited to represent his country along with some of the world's all-time greats. As a side benefit, the Union brand will gain valuable international exposure through his presence."
The charity match is organized by the Polish Association of Former Football Players, a member of the European Former Football Players Associations (EFPA). EFPA players include legends such as Hristo Stoichkov, Christian Karembeu, Emilio Butragueño, Michael Reiziger, Lothar Matthäus, Steve McManaman, Enzo Scifo, Paulo Sousa and Davor Šuker, among others.
Nowak will return from Poland on Thursday, May 12, in time for Philadelphia's road match against FC Dallas on Saturday.
