Basically, you are not allowed to view or use anything that has a "screen": a television, a gaming device, an iPad, a Nintendo DS, etc.
Surprisingly enough, my son and daughter survived the no screens week unscathed. Imagine that.
Their exercise in media restraint also coincided with one of the biggest international news stories to break in some time: the killing of Osama bin Laden.
Since news coverage of the take-out operation has died down a bit, my children haven't really picked up on the story or asked any questions about it. I expect that to change, and I plan on sitting down with them to discuss what the end of the al-Qaeda leader's time on Earth means to them.
