Trooper injured after cruiser flips in crash

SEAFORD, Del. - May 15, 2011

Police say a car driven by 36-year-old Alexander Reyes-Galo of Laurel pulled into the path of the trooper on U.S. 13 in Seaford. The trooper swerved to avoid a collision, but Reyes-Galo's vehicle ended up striking the cruiser on the driver's side.

The cruiser spun and hit a concrete island, then flipped several times before coming to rest on its roof in a grassy area.

Police say both the trooper and Reyes-Galo were hospitalized and are expected to survive. The crash remains under investigation.
