Police: Car strikes police cruiser, injures 3

A vehicle going the wrong direction injured three people including two police officers, authorities say.

The series of accidents occurred around 9:10 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of 28th Street and Girard Avenue in the Brewerytown section of Philadelphia.

The driver struck a police cruiser, as well as two other vehicles.

Police say the accident was caused by a woman driving the wrong direction and running a red light.

Three people, including two police officers, were transported to area hospitals, all with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are continuing to investigate.
