Very embarrassing!
I'm used to driving my 10-year-old around and my 8-year-old. They have friends all over town and even a few towns away. Now, my 3-year-old wants play dates every minute! There are a few kids in town, but they're often unavailable. I thought it was a bit early to be shuttling him to and from his preschool friends, but I don't think I have any other choices. I'm not sure what to expect when he's home all day torturing his older sisters to play spider man this Summer!
I looked for some guidance on WebMD and the line "It's never too for a play date for a child..." did not exactly bring me solace! To my surprise author Heather Hatfield talked about infants having play dates! She surely is not trying to hold down a job while raising 3 kids!
The suggestions? Twice a week appears to be a good number of play dates. You can start as young as infancy! Gender is not important and apparently, age doesn't matter as much as you think. Children learn a lot from each other, even if there are differences in gender and age.
