Report: "Botox mom" says injection story was hoax

SAN FRANCISCO - May 19, 2011

According to a report on gossip website TMZ.com, Sheena Upton - a.k.a. Kerry Campbell - says she made up the entire story and says everything about it was fake.

Upton was on ABC's "Good Morning America" and claimed to show reporter Lara Spencer how she injected her daughter.

In the following days California welfare officials took her daughter away.

Now, Upton said it was a hoax and she did it for money.

An ABC News spokesman said:

"We have just seen the sworn declaration on TMZ written by Sheena Upton, a.k.a. Kerry Campbell , and are vigorously investigating her most recent statement and rapidly shifting story.

Good Morning America has repeatedly questioned Upton, members of her family, and other sources who again and again stood by the Botox story.

Good Morning America is solely interested in getting to the truth and will share with our audience any new information that we find."

TMZ went on to report that Upton was paid $200 by the British tabloid "The Sun."
