Storm damage reported in 2 central Pa. counties

MIFFLINTOWN, Pa. (AP) - May 23, 2011

Phil Lucas, press information officer at the Juniata County emergency operations center, said damage to some barns, farms and residences in the primarily agricultural area had been reported after the storms rolled through at about 6 p.m. Monday.

He said roofs had been blown off some structures, and power outages were also reported, but only a few minor injuries had been reported.

Emergency officials in Northumberland County said they had reports of damage to structures in the Point Township.

The National Weather Service, which earlier posted tornado warnings in several counties, will check the damage Tuesday to determine whether a tornado struck the area.
