The blaze broke out at about 4:15 a.m. at Lepore's shop on the unit block of Ormond Street in Linwood.
When firefighters arrived they found heavy smoke and flames spitting out of the building, especially the roof.
Crews evacuated the building as they battled the flames.
It took more than an hour and a half to get the fire under control.
There are no reports of injuries and no word yet on a cause.
Police have closed streets in the area, while crews mop up and investigate.
