Split verdict returned over Pa. urine bet fight

EASTON, Pa. - June 8, 2011

The Morning Call of Allentown reports a Kyle Tarboro was convicted Tuesday of simple assault and other charges but acquitted on robbery and aggravated assault charges for the fight following an all-night poker game last year.

Investigators say Tarboro and the victim, Brian Hamedl, made an alcohol-fueled $300 bet over whether Hamedl had a bottle of urine in his truck. Police say the wager prompted a fight after the game broke up at the Bethlehem Township home.

Police responding to the scene found Hamedl beaten and semi-conscious. He spent four days in a hospital.

Tarboro is scheduled to be sentenced June 24. A second suspect previously pleaded guilty to simple assault.
