Still no relief for apartment residents in Montco

JENKINTOWN, Pa. - June 8, 2011

We reported on Action News at 11 on Tuesday that the air conditioning for the Colonade Apartments at 100 Old York Road was broken and, as of Wednesday evening, the problem was still not fixed.

The air conditioning issues are evident as soon as you walk into the lobby of the Colonade. The receptionist has a fan going while buckets of cold drinks have been set out for the residents.

Management says only 12 of the 287 apartments are having air conditioning issues, but it appears many more than that have windows open. Some residents have installed air-conditioners themselves but others are just sweating it out.

"The 11th floor is so hot," said Colonade resident George Mejia. "Me and my roommates have three fans out and we just have them on full blast."

Colonade management said work was still underway to fix the problems.
