Mrs. Fixit: Ready To Grill

June 18, 2011

Even if you cleaned your grill before you put it away, spiders and bugs and plenty of germs have built up over the off season.

Wipe down the outside of the grill with a cloth dipped in warm soapy water to remove any dust and debris from the housing.

Close the grill and turn the heat on to its highest setting and leave it on for at least ten minutes. This will burn off any dirt and bugs and kill any germs. Then, let it cool completely.

Once the grill has cooled, wipe the grates down with a cloth and a fifty-fifity white vinegar and water mixture to clean off the soot and debris.

Wipe with a clean cloth and then remove the grids and spray them with vegetable oil.

Put them back in place and turn the grill on low for a half an hour or so. This will season your grill racks so you're set for your first barbeque of the year!

Just a few easy steps to get you set for the grilling season!! I'm Mrs. Fixit and it's just that simple!
