AP: Del. executive faces federal charges

WILMINGTON, Del. - June 9, 2011

The allegations against Christopher Tigani were unsealed Thursday in federal court. Tigani is charged with using his former company, NKS Distributors, to reimburse others for making campaign contributions to federal and state candidates. Prosecutors say his goal was to influence legislation regulating alcohol and to lease land from the state department of transportation.

Asked Thursday morning before the documents were unsealed about the status of a federal investigation into the land deal, Tigani said, "I can't comment at all on the investigation."

His federal public defender did not return a call seeking comment.
