Officers were flagged down by a person who saw the child around 10:00 a.m. in the area of East Lea and Colony boulevards.
That's where they found the child, believed to be three or four years old.
Police have not yet released any other details about the circumstances behind this case.
The girl had been in the care of the Division of Family Services while the search for parents was underway. It's not yet known if the girl was released to the mother's custody.
