Want your mummy? Visit new exhibit in Philly

PHILADELPHIA - June 15, 2011

"Mummies of the World" opens to the public on Sunday at the Franklin Institute.

There are 45 mummies of humans and animals, ranging from 250 years old to more than 6,500 years old. The mummies come from all over the world.

Organizers say it's the largest traveling exhibition of mummies ever assembled. Philadelphia is the third of seven U.S. stops planned for the show, which originated in Germany.

The last time mummies came to Philadelphia was in April when the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Anthropology and Archaeology's display of two Chinese mummies was abruptly ended amid a dispute with Chinese officials.
