Study: Risky online behavior common

DATELINE

A survey of 1,070 adults and their teenage children found that both parents and teens regularly engage in risky online behavior.

The survey was commissioned by computer security company GFI Software. Nearly two-thirds parents say they have had their home computers infected with a virus. Of these, 55 percent were infected more than once.

Of the teens who responded, 24 percent say they have visited a website meant for adults. More than half who do so say they lied about their age to get into the sites.
