Elderly man injured in Chester Co. road rage beating

SALISBURY TOWNSHIP, Pa. - June 16, 2011

Jeremy Ray Thompson, 29, of Salisbury Township is charged with Aggravated Assault, Simple Assault, Criminal Mischief and related offenses.

Investigators say a road rage incident at 5:30 p.m. Saturday along Wertztown Road in Salisbury Township sparked the tension between Thompson and a 73-year-old Salisbury man. There are no specifics on the initial altercation, but the men ultimately stopped their vehicles at Davis Lane and Mill Road in Honey Brook Township, Chester County.

During the confrontation, Thompson allegedly punched the victim in the face several times and threw him up against his vehicle. He then fled the scene.

The victim was transported to Ephrata Hospital for treatment. His condition is unknown at this time.

A warrant was issued for Thompson's arrest. He was later apprehended and is currently in Lancaster County Prison.
