Ferris wheel that NJ girl fell from is to reopen

WILDWOOD, N.J. - June 17, 2011

Morey's Piers in Wildwood says in a statement that it accepts state recommendations that there be a minimum of two passengers per car. It is also raising the minimum height required to ride from 54 inches to 60 inches.

The cause of the fall that killed Abiah Jones of Pleasantville has not been determined. Her parents have called for the installation of seat belts or some other sort of restraining device on Ferris wheels nationwide.

Jones was on a school trip and alone in the gondola when she fell to her death June 3.
