To say people were feeling the music is an understatement.
The West Oak Lane Jazz and Arts Festival is in full swing, and the community is loving it.
"Everyone having a wonderful time, especially me," said Vicki Sanders.
Several blocks of Ogontz Avenue has been shut down for the event which is in its 8th year.
There is food, family fun and music on three stages.
Sheryl Hicks had her grill, her family and a front row seat to all of the shows. She's one of the lucky ones who just happen to have a home right in the middle of the festival.
"It's unbelievable. It's wonderful. Every year it is wonderful, the people are wonderful, and I just love it," says Hicks.
The festival is a big party that brings in big money for nearby businesses and vendors who set up on the street.
For others, it is just a get away to listen to old school artists like Freddie Jackson.
"I'm sweating and having fun with Freddie Jackson," said Vicki Sanders.
And Sheryl Hicks says she's got a whole list of performers she is ready to see; one in particular she hopes will stop by her front yard cookout.
"I'm inviting my girl Chaka Chan tomorrow," said Hicks. "Oh that's going to be a good performance."
