Mother, son found dead in home, father on train tracks

WARRINGTON TWP., Pa. - June 18, 2011

Police say a man called 911 around 9:40 Friday night to report that he found his wife and 7-year-old son "bludgeoned to death" inside their upscale Warrington Township home.

He later told the 911 operator that he killed them, said "thank you" and hung up.

Police arrived and found the woman and son dead in bedrooms, inside the home on the 100 block of Redstone Court.

Bucks County District Attorney David Heckler says bloody baseball bat was found near the boy's body, but the man had fled the scene.

His body was found on train tracks in Hatboro three hours later. Police believe he committed suicide by lying down on Septa tracks and was hit by the R-2 Warminster line.

Investigators say there was no indication of a struggle, but numbers were found of family members to be called.

Neighbors tell police the family was struggling financially.

Police are not releasing names, but believe the father was a computer expert who worked out of the family's home.
