Graduate never missed a day of school since kindergarten!

June 18, 2011

It takes real dedication.

No sick days, so skip days, Josh Goldberg of Northeast Philadelphia has not missed a single day of school since kindergarten, and he's never been late either.

"When it would snow, they would always make sure I was here before the bell rang," said Josh.

Josh is among over 450 members of George Washington High School's Class of 2011 celebrating commencement.

It was a picture perfect day with a crystal blue sky, perfect conditions with families and loved ones looking on, including Josh's mom, one of the forces behind his perfect record.

"It shows that you want to be there and do a job, be best you can possibly be," said Josh's mom Gail Goldberg.

Josh credits mom and dad, a hefty immune system, and a lot of drive.

The principal explains there are a few students who have a perfect attendance for several years, but perfection since kindergarten is rare.

"It's an amazing, amazing accomplishment," said Catherine Murphy, George Washington High School Principal.

Like most of the graduates, Josh is continuing with his education, bound for Syracuse University to study environmental engineering.

He is committed to keeping his record, even with whatever snow upstate New York will bring.

Of course there are many accomplishments among the members of the graduating class; Josh's perfect attendance is among them. Congratulations to all of the class of 2011.
