Officials: Woman struck and killed by SEPTA train

A woman was struck and killed by a SEPTA train in Hatboro, Montgomery County, according to officials.

Hatboro Police Chief James E. Gardner reports that Hatboro Police responded to a report of a person struck by a train along the rail road tracks between Meadowbrook Avenue and E. Montgomery Avenue at approximately 7:45 p.m. Tuesday evening.

Responding police officers found that a 31-year-old female had been struck and killed by a southbound SEPTA commuter train.

Police are withholding the name of the victim until proper notification of the victim's family is made.

Train service was interrupted for a few hours on the Warminster Line.

Service was restored around 10:00 p.m.

Hatboro Police were assisted at the scene by SEPTA officials, Enterprise Fire Company and the Montgomery County Coroner's Office.

Further details may be released by the Coroner's office tomorrow.
