Call for Action Results: TV problem resolved

PHILADELPHIA - June 22, 2011

Irv Kramer of Broomall, Pa. bought a television set, but just 10 days later, it didn't work. The store sent technicians to Irv's house and it appears they fixed his TV, but, he says, "after the third day it broke down again."

This time, Irv says the store manager wasn't helpful.

So Irv contacted Call for Action and spoke to one of our volunteers.

"She was very nice and contacted the company," he told Action News. "After several weeks of her calling them, they sent two technicians over."

In the end, Irv didn't get a new television set, because it turned out that his television wasn't broken. He just needed to get another antenna or subscribe to a cable or satellite service, which he did.

Even though the resolution wasn't exactly what he expected, Irv says he's thankful to Call for Action for getting involved.

"I felt at least I had the satisfaction of knowing that someone else other than myself was trying to get the company to honor the purchase that I made," Irv said.
