It said Tuesday that Mercedes sales from January through June rose by 9.7 percent on the year from 556,700 units to 610,500.
The company, based in Stuttgart, says sales in Germany increased only slightly to 123,000 units, with deliveries in the U.S. - its second-biggest market - up by 7 percent to 111,000 vehicles.
It says sales in China were up by 52.3 percent on the year to 92,200 units, and the company plans to boost annual sales there through local production lines to 300,000 vehicles by 2015.
It said overall June sales were up by 6.4 percent to 120,500 units.
