Britt Reid cited for speeding, careless driving

PHILADELPHIA - July 5, 2011

The incident happened Thursday in Lower Merion Township.

Reid was pulled over by a Pennsylvania State Trooper and ticketed for speeding, careless driving, and an unknown equipment violation.

All the tickets are summary offenses.

This is not the first run-in with the law involving Britt Reid.

In January 2007, he was sentenced to eight to 23 months in jail plus five years probation on gun and drug charges after police say he flashed a gun at another driver in a road-rage incident in West Conshohocken that November.

While out on bail, Reid was arrested for driving into a shopping cart in a Dick's Sporting Goods store in Plymouth Meeting. In December 2007, he pled guilty to driving under the influence of a controlled substance.

In June 2009, Britt completed a 15-month treatment program at the Montgomery County Drug Court.

Britt remains on probation following the gun and drug arrest in 2007.

Andy Reid, who has previously taken off time to support his two sons, had no comment.
