Police: Child among three injured in shooting

KENSINGTON - July 5, 2011

It happened around 5:50 p.m. along the 2000 block Of East Stella Street near Amber Street.

Police say someone opened fire, striking the child and two adults.

The child was struck in her arm while playing in a nearby swimming pool.

One of those adults, described as a 51-year old man, was struck in the right side of his chest. He is listed as critical, but stable.

The second adult male was shot one time in the stomach and he is critical.

Both adults were rushed to Episcopal Hospital where they were later transferred to Temple University Hospital.

The child was rushed to St. Christopher's Hospital for Children where she is stable.

At this time, no arrests have been made.
