ABC has licensed "All My Children" and "One Life to Live" in a multi-year deal allowing their stories to continue beyond their imminent broadcast termination. The announcement was made Thursday by the network and by Prospect Park, the media company that has acquired both of the 4-decade-old programs.
Prospect Park said it will produce and deliver the programs via online formats and other platforms, although it offered no specifics. There also was no mention of when either show might resume under the agreement or whether their current actors would be retained.
"All My Children" will disappear from ABC's schedule after Sept. 23. "One Life to Live" will end its run on the network in January.
