The shooting happened along the 1900 block of east Atlantic Street, near Jasper, shortly before 11:00 p.m.
Police say a boy, possibly in his mid to late teens, was shot at least one time in the upper body. The teen managed to run down the block to a relative's home.
Police responded and rushed the boy to Temple university Hospital for treatment.
Police say the teen is listed in critical but stable condition at this time but is not being very cooperative with the investigation.
