Foster son accused of killing NJ man

CAMDEN, N.J. - July 13, 2011

The teen was arrested Tuesday night by members of United States Marshals Service and NYPD in the Bronx. Police say he will be extradited back to Camden County, New Jersey where he will be arraigned for murder.

Authorities say the boy was Theotis Butts' foster son.

It was around 9:00 p.m. Monday when Theotis Butts failed to pick-up his wife from work. Concerned for his safety, his wife called her brother and asked him to go to their home in Blackwood, N.J. to see what was delaying him.

Butts' brother-in-law arrived at the residence on Hemlock Drive at approximately 9:41 p.m. and discovered the 69-year-old man stabbed to death in the front hallway of the home.

Butts had been stabbed multiple times. Police believe the intruder entered through a basement window. The house was ransacked and items taken.

Police said Wanda and Theotis Butts did take in foster children in recent years.
