The shooting happened along the 5900 block of North 5th Street, near Nedro. It was there that police say someone opened fire shortly after 2:30 a.m., striking a woman.
The victim, believed to be in her late 40's, was hit in the upper thigh. She was rushed by medics to nearby Albert Einstein Medical Center for treatment.
The shooter fled the scene and remains at large.
There is no word on a motive.
