Fast moving fire erupts in N.E. Phila

NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - July 17, 2011

Firefighters were dispatched around 7:00 a.m. Sunday morning, after receiving reports of a deck catching fire.

Two neighbors moved quickly to alert area residents.

"We started throwing rocks through windows to wake everybody," said Jesus Montesino.

Fire crews arrived to find the home heavily engulfed in flames. Shortly after, the fire quickly spread to nearby homes.

The homes were severely damaged but residents were able to evacuate with no injuries.

No word on what sparked the blaze.
